Hi,

I use the MaxLogic 677 VGA controller and a Mitsubisha Diamond Scan monitor
with ESIX under X using the Video/7 VGA 800x600 driver.  At 14", this is 
about as fine as you can go and still read the screen.  Graphics and the
twm manager are usable and the display speed (in a 25MHz system) is quite
acceptable.

If you're in need of 1024x768, I would highly recommend the Everex
Ultragraphics with an NEC 4D monitor ($$$$$, though).
