GoScript is a reasonable alternative if you can't afford the LJ II cartridge.
I bought my copy at SoftWarehouse for less than $270. You need to have the 1
meg LJ II RAM upgrade (for full page 300 dpi), but a standard AT will work
reasonably well with it.  BTW, I bought the PLUS version of GoScript with 34
fonts. The standard version is about half the price.
