The machine boots properly but if it sits idle for a while, I will get the dreaded "unable to access ... Abort, Retry, Ignore" messages. The other day, I got a "Unable to access FAT1 ... Unable to access FAT2" type message. Rebooting the machine made the problem disappear for a while. I would guess that the hard disc needs re-formatting, at the least.
