I gather that GRiD even produced a (then) $12,000 version of their model 3
laptop, with heavy radiation shielding (beyond the usual RF) for the U.S.
government.  Regan sent diplomats to China with these (the shielding was for
"security reasons"), and NASA has sent them up in the shuttle for backup
navigation.
