[about menus in windows] I think the way McSink does it is excellent. It puts a horizonally scrolling menu bar in the window, just under the title bar. This way, provided the standard menu bar is eliminated, no more screen real estate than is already used would be taken up. For applications that don't normally keep a window open, a simple mechanism like keeping the copyright window up (with the menu bar) would suffice.
