Note that the Mac IIcx uses soldered-in chips and so I'm not sure how it is even possible to upgrade the thing. Most upgrades are a matter of popping out the CPU chip and plugging in a piggy-back board. I notice that DayStar says they have an upgrade product for the II cx but a technical person wasn't available when I called them on Friday. I need some information on the potential for upgrading the CPU on a Mac IIcx by Monday too! Does anyone know if 30-Mhz 030 upgrades on a Mac II cx are possible? If you don't need the slots then a II cx plus low-cost accelerator would seem to be superior to even a IIci. -- John T.
