I also would like to get at the Macintosh archives on SIMTEL, but access
through vm1.nodak.edu does not seem to get that for me.

I tried these.  I am a UUCP-only site, with an internet gateway neighbor.
The bitnet address gets bounced by the gateway.  The rice address gets
a "remote protocol error" and "domain not specified" when the gateway
tries to access that host.

Presumably, there is a magic incantation that I don't know.  Sigh.
