Some public-domain desk accessory calendars offer the right features, but not quite: user clicks on a date and a text screen appears. However, the space is usually not large enough to contain a day's events on a busy campus, and desk accessories would mean installation difficulties on the network. Ideally, the package should be a free-standing application (or perhaps a Hypercard stack), with a reasonable amount of text space per day or week. The user would be able to open a file/application called "Campus Events" and be able to select a day/week of their choice. This file could be located in a read-only public-access AppleShare folder, but if the application or stack had some manner of passwording or similar to prevent unauthorized modification, that would be a plus. An application which could service both Mac and IBM users on the server is not needed, but this also would be a plus. Program would be purchased under a site license and run under AppleShare. If you have any recommendations, please mail to JAFITZWILLIA@vassar.bitnet -- we have no news access. Thanks in advance for your help.
