I believe that the 6.0 version of the Laserwriter/LaserPrep
(and perhaps other print drivers) open a CGrafPort and correctly
image Greyscale data.  I don't have release versions of these,
but they came with either some 6.0.x update or the 32-Bit
Quickdraw release.
