friday, we got our first NeXT on evaluation.  the machine is about a year
old.  it was working great on friday, and i left powered up over the weekend.
when i came in monday, the tube looked like the brightness was being
overdriven - screen all washed out, including the overscan area.  the 
brightness controls on the keyboard and preference window worked, but the
washout remained constant.  i powered the machine down and back up, but the
problem remains.  in fact, the brightness flickered for a while after it
was powered up, being overdriven all the while.

i turned the machine off and am waiting for the tangle of who's responsible
to clear so i can get the machine fixed or replaced.

has anyone else seen this kind of problem or had other problems with the
megapel display?  i was very impressed with the crispness and clarity of 
it before this happened.
