I want to coonect the CUBE to my Mac II so I could use a communication
program to login. 
I was told that I have to change ttyda to dialin and connect with a cable
the Mac Printer port and Serial port A on the CUBE.
I did and when I run Versaterm I get:

NeXT Mach (ops) (ttyda)

ops login:                                ( ops = name of my CUBE)

Then I type "nevai" and press return. Then "password" is supposed
to come up but it doesn't!!!!! Instead I get again

NeXT Mach (ops) (ttyda)

ops login:

and so forth......

Why can't I login? Why doesn't "password" compe up? What did I do wrong?
Please, help!!!!!!!! (Please help in plain English, I am not an electrical
engineer etc., just a puzzled mathematician).
