For me it only shows up in awk, where I get really strange behavior. The simple script awk '{print 5* $1}' works fine in regular unix but yields garbage when run under merge386... ON A MACHINE WITHOUT MATH COPROCESSOR. If I move everything to a motherboard with a 287 installed, it does ok. (But there, for reasons I can't fathom, the merge installation fails when it gets to making the ega image, so I switch boards back and settle for screwy arithmetic.) gawk also fails on this, but I can't figure out where yet (source code is a dangerous thing). Does this look familiar? Is merge386 simply unable to handle fp emulation? -- Norman Kohn | ...ddsw1!nvk Chicago, Il. | days/ans svc: (312) 650-6840 | eves: (312) 373-0564
