Old Bridge NJ Lines: 59 Help, I've just been given an account on a Unix box running ESIX System 5.3.2 Rev C { Thats Sys V } We are using the Korn shell around here, but our Unix wiz is on vacation so I ask you for help. I am trying to get my command history to work, under Korn, using the emacs mode, but it does't work. ;-< I've set all of the variables to what the man pages say, and if I type a control p, I am supposed to get the last item in the command history. No go, I just get something like ^P not found. Actually, none of the emacs commands work, they seem to be stuck on the default vi commands, but for the moment the ^P is all that I am really interested in. What am I doing wrong? Info: EDITOR=emacs HISTSIZE=600 FCEDIT=emacs set -o : emacs on ignoreeof on interactive on monitor on all others off Its really a pain as I've grown used to using the command history at my school running BSD and Csh.
