Lines: 25 I ran into the following problem yesterday: I'm running SCO Xenix 2.3.2 on a 386 with 3 Arnet Smartport boards. One tty (on the Arnet board) locked up and I needed to shutdown and reboot to get it to work again. I tried unplugging and replugging in the port, shutting off and repowering the terminal (a DEC VT100) connected to port, sending X-ON characters from the terminal, and finally tried to kill the getty process on the device. Nothing worked and the kill -9 would not start a new getty process. The port locked up after automatically logging off the user due to too much idle time. If anyone has any suggestions or has run across a similar situation, I'd appreciate it -- I'd hate to have to shutdown each time it happens.
