I explored a bit and then found xdm. I would like to be able to run xdm automatically so I can keep X running all the time. I also like xdm's login screen. I'm not very experienced with System V Unix and I having trouble getting xdm to run automatically when the system goes to init level 2 (multiuser mode). I tried to put an entry in /etc/inittab of: xdm:23:once:/usr/bin/X11/xdm but I ran into trouble. Any help you give me to put in the correct entry here in /etc/inittab or elsewhere would be appreciated. Please send email if possible.
