I built the entire Sun contribution (XView and olwm) on my DS3100 before the R4 was cut; I had a few problems, but I think the major problems have been fixed and it should build with little difficulty. I've also run all of the XView clients against the R4 server on the DS3100 and they work fine; except that XView uses a private protocol to manage the CLIPBOARD selection and so the R4 xclipboard client confuses things quite a bit. Use the bits from R4 though, the earlier versions of XView could only be built with a nearly-ansi compiler (the DS3100 compiler is still stone age in some respects). Keith Packard MIT X Consortium
