Not the Sample Implementation. You can contact various vendors to find out what their product plans are. How about to X Consortium members? PEX sponsors have received several preliminary releases. Consortium members will see releases later this year. When will there be a general release? 1990ish, if things go according to plan. What are some useful references to learn more about PEX? Read the files in doc/extension/PEX (PostScript files in hardcopy/extensions/PEX) in R4. Obtain any books/articles on PHIGS you can find; The programming interface to PEX will be PHIGS/PHIGS+. How compatible will PEX be with X11. PEX makes no incompatible changes to X11, that I know of. PEX is a draft standard of the MIT X Consortium. It is awaiting proof of concept (expected to be fulfilled by the Sample Implementation).
