If so it might be worth posting to xpert that it will be possible/reasonable to attend the conference by flying in and never renting a car. There is no reason to rent a car in Boston unless you want to drive somewhere out of the city during the conference. If you don't want to deal with the subway, take a cab from the airport to the hotel. The Marriot Copley Place also runs a shuttle to and from Logan Airport, $6.50 per person.
