1. It's always been nonsense to allow only up to 9 positional parameters;
   change the syntax from

	'$' {digit}
   to
	'$' {number}

2. The same goes for file descriptors.  We don't use PDPs anymore, thank you.
3. Csh's notation for `redirect-both-stdout-and-stderr-to-a-pipe' is a
   non-conflicting shorthand for the equivalent sh syntax.
