Here in Howard County Maryland, I am a member of the disabled commission of the county which has the authority to pass county ordinances and one that we have passed here is mandating that at least one of the handicapped parking places be large enough to accomodate a lift van. e.g. I have a 1989 Dodge Ram Van with a Ricon lift installed and I require 8' from the side of my van or a total of 10' altogether width in space to use my lift. The County council backed the legislation that we wrote and the county is in the process of making at least one of the handicapped parking spaces (usually there are three together) large enough for a lift van to conveniently fit and use the lift. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!261!1045!Tim.Watts Internet: Tim.Watts@f1045.n261.z1.fidonet.org
