No electrical based computation. No on-board batteries. They use air pressure to work the timers. I didn't bother understanding how those work since I was busy with the following. Do you think Drexler could construct a timer from rods (or such) powered from chemical synthesis/reactions (proteins or gas) ? talk about hot rods :) I don't want to start anything, but you'd have to be careful of dragu when designing such a timer.
