Bands and people would stagnate if styles remained the same over the years. However, why is it that many, many bands start strongly, peak in the middle, and then tend to decline? I would think that years of experience would make for a better product, at least most of the time. Is it that the aging members of the band tend to lose contact with a younger generation? I don't know, but I do know that there is a general opinion that 70's and early 80's music was "vintage" and that today's music doesn't compare. Any ideas? By-tor
