I don't understand t hem either but I have known them personally. About 10 years ago or more, my fa ther got cancer. He was so sick they couldn't operate on him. He had ruined h is lungs by working in the coal mines and by smoking. He had heart trouble and high blood pressure and diabetes. They needed to take his larynx out and treat him with radiation. Because he was so sick they decided to treat him with radi ation and operate later. After he came home to improve his condition by not sm oking and a strict diet, a preacher came by to see him.(My father was not saved at that time). He had heard about my dad from someone. He told my father that God revealed to him that he(God) was going to heal him. He asked my father if he would like for him to pray with him. My father said yes. They did treat my father with radiation but the doctors said in no way would this get rid of the cancer, only keep it from spreading. When my father went back at the scheduled time to prepare for surgery, my mother asked the doctors to examine him carefully before committing him to the surgery. Praise God they couldn't find (ANY) cancer!!! Due to a massive heart attach and his stomach rupturing open he has been close to death many times. His health is slowly deteriorating and I know someday he must suffer physical d eath but he still gets on his feet and walks around. That is something that th e doctors said 5 yrs ago would never happen. The reason I am tell you this is because this doesn't always happen. My s isters husband died last year of Cancer. He was a missionary for God. We all prayed for him constantly. They called in the Elders of the church. Many time s he was close to death and God raised him up to show his Glory. Always he wou ld get sick again. So this went on with treatments for the Cancer and much pra yer and good days and bad days and much pain and suffering and all the desire o f wanting to cling to this life and still more importantly wanting the will of God to be fulfilled. Finally in the end we all prayed for God to take him home so the trials of the horrible disease would be over and now he is in heaven. I know God could have healed him. I don't know why he didn't but I praise him an y way and know that all things work for the best for them that love the Lord. My mother has cancer now and we have asked for a healing and continue to d o so. She had two years of Chemo and they were the worst trial of my life. I love my mother so much and it was so hard to be there at the hospital and watch her almost slip away. Her fate is in Gods hands and she is not afraid because she has all her trust in him and in my eyes she is a saint. She has taught me to ask God's will in my prayers and I guess it was not Gods will for Jerry to b e healed because we believed and we asked. I still love God and Praise him.
