One of the things that became apparent during development was the need for tools to assist in the manipulation of DB2 objects. In particular, we will be evaluating tools that will: - change structure attributes (column size) - change structures (move column from one table to another) - reorganize the data structures (unload, drop, create, load) - restore all dependant objects (views, plans, authorizations) - copy data between tables - migrate objects between subsystems We will be considering software from BMC (DB2 Alter, DB2 Reorg Plus, DB2 DASD Manager), Platinum Technology (RC/Update, RC/Migrator), Online Software International (ProEdit, ProAlter/Plus) and XA Systems (DB2 Xpert). I am interested in hearing about your experiences with any of these products and suggestions for other products that might meet our needs. Specifically, which products (if any) do you use? How easy is the product to install and maintain? How would you rate the vendor? Would you buy the product again knowing what you do now? Thanks in advance for your responses.
