E. Tuncer" I received this in response to a requset about DnD simulation games a week ago. Just thought that I would leave it for all to see Nannok of the North ----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Games from SSI, in order of release: --Some Dragonlance game...it's supposed to be okay, but not great. Characters *do not* transfer into the Pool of Radiance series. --A Dungeon Master's helper...this is for use in connection with the actual D&D game...not actually a game...I've not seen this in action. --Pool of Radiance...pretty good, but I recommend at least Tandy 16 color graphics/EGA, Tandy sound, and an 8MHz processor...if you play this on a base PC/XT you'll hate it, but you'll love it on a '386... You control a party of up to 8 (6 player characters, 2 NPC's...) --Hillsfar...kind of an arcade game for D&D...you can create new characters or bring in your characters from the others...one character at a time. For this one you want a *slow* processor, as some of the arcade things (the archery range in particular) are much harder on a faster machine... I would recommend skipping this one, unless you have a friend who already bought it... --Curse of the Azure Bonds...better graphics etc. than Pool, but much easier. I've not played it, but Pool took my free time for a month, while a friend who took about the same amount of time on Pool solved Curse in a week... Recommendations: Pool and Curse...skip the rest. P.S. if this was helpful to you, you are welcome/encouraged to re-post this to the net...I would have, but forgot to...
