I want to install a hard disk on my A500. The knowns.... 1.) I have a Seagate ST-238 left over from my PC (yech) days. (I no longer have the Western Digital WD-1002-27X Controller, though). 2.) I have a Xebec controller (full size card), probably not useful for this. (Don't even know the model, since I got this along with some other miscellany). 3.) I have a 180 watt pc power supply which can be used to power the HD and any required electronics. The constraint... I would like to minimize cost. Perhaps <= 100.00 for pc hd controller. Maybe <= 50.00 for interface between pc hd controller and Amiga's 86-pin connector ( I know this is simple). OR, <= 175.00 for some kind of magic ST-238 to Amiga disk controller board. I don't care if it's Amiga-SCSI-ST507 or Amiga-ST507, as long as it works and is reliable. I would prefer 30 Mbyte RLL just like the old days, but I'll settle for 20 (if I have to). The question... What do I need? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS, __________________________________________________ GRAHAM@IUCF.BITNET __________________________________________________ Boings!...More Boings!
