(DIP) memory board in my Rev 4.4 Amiga 2000 with no problems (in terms of compatibility). I bought the board with 2 megs installed and recently bought another 2 megs worth of chips and installed them. The board comes with a memory test utility which I ran when I first got the board and again after the upgrade. It caught a one-bit error when I ran it after the upgrade, but the error was in the original memory! Apparently it developed an error over time. Since only one memory location was affected, I got the PD utility MemDiag by Fabbian Dufoe which allows you to quarantine areas of memory as small as 8 bytes in size. It fragments memory but that is not a problem for me. By the way, the error address reported by the Microbotics utility is one byte lower than it actually is - MemDiag gives the correct address. Count me as a generally satisfied user of the 8-UP! (DIP) board. ________________________ Bob Fillmore, Systems Software & Communications BITNET: FILLMORE@EMRCAN Computer Services Centre, BIX: bfillmore Energy, Mines, & Resources Canada Voice: (613) 992-2832 588 Booth St., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K1A 0E4 FAX: (613) 996-2953
