One of the science libraries here had (as a sop to the humanities-oriented people in that college) ordered the Harvard Classics. It was cataloged as one title - "The Harvard Classics". All of the individual titles in the series were then dealt with through copy records, voluminous notes, etc. I deleted that record and had them recatalog it properly. This is not the case for you, but you'll still have to break it up.
