At IRLEARN, an extension to Rice MAIL is in use which gives users access
to a public disk area where postings to selected public lists, popular
with local users, are placed in notebooks by a daemon.  This avoids the
need for individual subscriptions to the lists.

This utility, called BBOARD, is home-grown.  It is written in REXX, and
requires Rice MAIL and a suitable archive-daemon, such as LISTSERV.
