For those of you who don't know: the IC-R1 is a communications receiver which covers 100kHz-1300MHz. The design is similar to the IC-2S series. It has a built-in clock and timer, 100 memory channels, search scan, a tuning knob, S-meter, power save function and probably other features which the ad I am looking at does not mention. -Walter
