PORTLAND, Ore. (UPI) -- Kimbi Daniels scored the winning goal with 2:09 left Wednesday night as Swift Current downed the Portland Winter Hawks 2-1 in Western Hockey League play at Memorial Coliseum. Portland outshot the Broncos 42-34, but Swift Current goaltender Stan Reddick had 41 saves on the night. Swift Current led 1-0 after one period on a goal by Tyler Wright, the last score until the final minutes. Portland's Dean Dorchak scored with 45 seconds left in the game to avoid a shutout of the Hawks. Swift Current improved to 20-30-2 on the season while Portland dropped to 15-33-2. The Hawks host Victoria Friday night.
