I forget how much local service costs me exactly, but it's $8.xx a month for pulse POTS. Add rental of two of the classic indestructible telephones (they were called something 500's by some TELECOM people, I think) at $1.75 a month and a bit of tax, and my total local phone bill is about $13. Of course, I can add $100/month long-distance for myself and almost the same for my housemates combined and local service is trivial. Anyone know how to get a really low rate (I've got it to $7.14/hr using after-11 and a 15% discount plan) to *one number* in Toronto for a great many hours a month? I wish I could pay them $100/month to add Toronto to my local dialling area. It's only an hour and a half drive, after all. -Colin
