They were the ONLY PBX mfg. to post a profit for calendar year 1989. BT isn't dumping Mitel per se. They are however VERY restricted to the amount of Mitel equipment they can sell in the UK. They feel at this point that the capital they can get from the sale of their 51% can be better utilized in providing telco services.
