Deaths occur, but no births... which makes for a pretty uninteresting game. Is there a patch for this extant? What would be better, in fact, is a version of life where the user could pick the starting configuration, and blink it along by hand, so there would be plenty of time to study each generation. I seem to remember CCA emacs had a mode like that.
