You mentioned GIFDOT  ??   Never heard of it...   BUT,  there is a
facility for printing MANY formats on dot matrix printers, GIFs too.
It is OPTIKS.  (Found in OKFXXX.ARC files where XXX is a version number
like 212 for 2.12... )  This was at clarkson, simtel, wuarchive, not
sure where else. I have the demo copy of 2.12, and love it. It runs on
my IBM PS/2, and prints fine on my 132 column printer. I fully plan to
register some time soon ($80, and worth it). Also works as a great way
to exchange formats. GIF -> TIFF -> MAC -> ??? -> ??? ... More people
should try this package.
