The Forth-79 implementation MVP-Forth is a nice intro to Forth on the Amiga, but not very useful for interfacing the operating system. A4TH1.5 is a Laxen & Perry Forth-83 "clone" in 32-bits for Amiga, and it's PD and downloadable everywhere. There is NO true Forth-83 implementation on the Amiga, since Forth-83 says 16 bits, and all decent Amiga Forths are 32-bits. The ANSI Standard Forth is on the way, give it another 18 months is my unofficial guess. >2) Is J-Forth for the Amiga a worthy product (it will be my $150 bucks)? Yes. So is MultiForth. JForth is my fave, though. A complete Amiga development environment for one third the price of a comparable C environment. >3) Is Forth good for Amiga graphics (what else, sound perhaps)? It's good for whatever Amiga is good for. JForth has a lot of neet "pre-fab" graphics stuff written you can play with. >4) Is there other literature you would recommend? _Threaded Interpretive Languages_, Loeliger, BYTE Books, 1981 _Inside F83_, C.H.
