Dear Net,

       Does anyone *REALLY* understand X.500 ? I understand what
it is trying to do, but cannot understand how. 

       Before anyone calls me an idiot, I fully understand systems such as 
Grapevine, Clearinghouse and  Lampson's Global Name Service.

	I would be interested to hear other peoples views on X.500.
