Wrong. There *is* a PD version, an 80-per-cent subset, by Erik Gisin of
University of Waterloo. This version had been floating in some anon-ftp
sites for quite a while, including, I believe, tut.cis.ohio-state.edu.
PD ksh does have an emacs mode, and seems reasonably portable.
