On the bright side, though. When I renewed last decade, I did it by MC. 
I noticed on my most recent MC bill a charge for Cruftward (or whatever)
publishing in London, at least six months after I renewed.
At least they held on to it for awhile, and cashed it about the time
they shipped v3#1.
