I seem to remember hearing (from someone at Commodore no less) that the A1000 could support 512K ROMS, but that there were no sockets on the motherboard for the other 256K. That doesn't sound like an insurmountable problem. Wouldn't it also be possible to make 256K of those ROMS into disk-loadable libraries on the A1000? I have a hard disk, I don't care where the machine gets its libraries from. g> While it is VERY DECENT of them to offer to buy back your g> A-1000's for one last go-around (how many other companies g> have ever done this once, let alone twice), in some instances g> it may not be economically feasible. For me, I've whittled down my expansion devices to a single Starboard II on the bus, which I can move to an A2000 if I want. Still, I don't really want to upgrade, because upgrading to an A2000 is purchasing hardware expandability I don't want or need. I don't see any reasons why the A1000 cannot continue to have the same operating system as the other Amigas. Could it be possible for Commodore to release some official statement about planned software support for the A1000? --M -- __ Michael Portuesi Silicon Graphics Computer Systems \/ portuesi@sgi.com Entry Systems Division -- Engineering "Why you?
