Lines: 32 References: Dear readers, I've a problem which my local hardware-farmer can't solve. But I'm sure, somebody out here must be able to help me. The system I have is a AT-clone, with a NEAT 286 (16/20 Mhz) motherbord, AMI bios. I resently bought a Bernoulli drive, 20 Mbyte 5.25 inch from Mountain Computer Inc. This includes a special (full size!) 8 bits card. And some software. (with a special driver: RCD.SYS). This combination works fine, if my computer is running at 10 Mhz. But if I switch it to 16 Mhz (or 20, what is also possible) the interface card doens't recognize the drive anymore, and I get the error message: "No RCD drive found". Question: what is wrong? The installation manual describes how to instal this card/drive into a Compaq 386 machine, so it should be able to handle speeds higher than 10 Mhz. The bus on the motherbord is (as far as I know) not affected by the alteration of low to high speed. So that should be the problem. Please help. What is (can be) wrong. Btw. I have no problems with any other cards in my system. Serge Wallagh j08@nikhefh.nikhef.nl ps. Could you pls send your answer also by email to me personally, as I'm not a regular reader of the net.
