I recently acquired a slightly-used IBM PC Convertible laptop (a bit on the slow/heavy side, but quite usable). Anyway, I have absolutely no technical info on it. What I'm looking for in particular is information on how to control power management (e.g. enable/disable power to the peripherals like the modem and serial ports when the machine is on battery power). I don't have the utility software provided with the machine (SYSPROF.COM), and would prefer to do so from within my own code anyway. Can anybody out there provide me with a map of the port and register locations for this beast together with some information on the control? All I really want to do right now is enable the modem to run on battery power instead of with the adaptor only (the default). Any help would be appreciated (preferably email to the address below).
