I have been useing 1 meg expanded on an XT turbo clone with good success. I have the Intel AboveBoard 286. Why the "286" variety, you ask? Well, it won't always be in an 8 bit machine. the Intel board will work in 8088 or 80286 systems. In 8088, you can only use it for expanded, or backfilling conventional. In a 80286 , you can use it for expanded, extended, or backfilling. Other boards have these capabilities as well Re: spoolers.
