When I click on the icon of the volume, my screen redraws but the volume (folder) does not open. I can see and open files in the folder from applications but can't open a window into the folder. I can also see files in the folder from UNIX on the VAX, where it is just another directory. When I checked with our consultants, I was advised that there must be something wrong with my system or with the AppleShare software. I was advised to reinstall both. I did so, and sometimes I can open the volume right after reinstallation. But generally I can't. It sounds like I have some software which is trashing some key part of either my system or AppleShare. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem. Thanks, Steve Goldfield (steve@violet.berkeley.edu) College of Engineering UC Berkeley
