I have a brand new SE/30, 5meg of memory, an external Apple 80meg drive, and the tape release of 1.1.1. I have successfully installed it on a MacII w/PMMU (5meg, same disk), but when I attempt to start the floppy kernel on the SE/30, I get a kernel panic complaining about virtual memory. I guess the problem is either: 1. A bad MMU, or are they calling it an AMU now? 2. Bad memory (and if anyone can tell me where to get a memory checking program, I would be greatful) -or- 3. Bad documentation. So if there is anyone out there that has done this, please drop me email. I need to know if I missed something. Thanks in advance, Steve Smith smith@origin.life.uiuc.edu
