The correct wiring diagram for the cable connector is: 6 7 8 3 4 5 1 2 The pin numbers for the connector on the pizza box would be mirror imaged from this diagram. We have both microphone input and speaker output with a cable built according to this diagram and the table in the Sparcstation 1 SunOS 4.0.3 Sun-4c release notes: Pin 3 Mic. tip Pin 6 Mic. ring Pin 7 Speaker ring (sleeve) Pin 8 Speaker tip (center connections - not stereo) We bought our microphone and self-amplifying speaker (MPS-5 model 32-2031A) from Radio Shack.
