Can anyone give me the names of some good introduction/reference books for 
programming in the X window system.  I am a total novice and need to get 
very familiar with it.  I am especially interested in Xlib, event handling, 
interaction with windows by mouse/keyboard, etc

Could you please respond by listing good "getting started" books and good
"expert" books.
