I have been told that this bug still exists in version 18.55. ----- This "bug" could be used as a feature to more closely emulate vi; set the overlay-arrow-string to "~". I dont think Stallman wants to support this feature, although it is useful to provide visible feedback of where the end of the buffer is. dan
