Thanks for pointing this out because it is sometimes hard for me to explain what it is like in the deaf world since I am deaf myself and I have a speech. I tend to think my world as normal, not much difference from the hearing world. But with your observation, I am now reminded again and again that it is the language that separates the deaf from the majority. However, there is one more point that I would like to add. It is also a sense of being "isolated" in a hearing society that causes the deaf people to seek others in common --deafness and language.
