However, the more I think, it would still be cheaper to buy a TV with a decoder chip even tho if it is $100 extra. I remembered back in the early 80's, the decoder's price was around $500 or more. And the same goes to the TDDs, too. My friend bought a new tty for 1200.00 back in '73, so we can see how much the cost has gone down since then due to the demand and supply market. I just hope that when the TVs with decoder chips come out into the market, it wouldn't be so darn expensive like those new ones did years ago. And then it would mean we would have to wait few years until the price comes down to a more tolerable price. Oh well, I think my decoder will live for another two or so years, hopefully...
